Executive Director
Tony Gherardini was appointed to Governor Polis' Cabinet as the Executive Director of the Department of Personnel & Administration near the end of 2021. Tony brings many years of experience running operations within state government. Tony served most recently in the role of Deputy Director of Operations for the Office of Behavioral Health and some of his previous roles have included serving as the Deputy Executive Director of Operations for the Colorado Department of Human Services, and as the Governor's Director of Operations and Cabinet Affairs. Tony is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, and served over 12 years in the Colorado Army National Guard.
Tony has served as a board member of the Statewide Internet Portal Authority, and is a current Serve Colorado Commissioner. Tony's experience outside state Government includes local government service, most notably as a Detective with the Lakewood Police Department until 2014. Tony is a graduate of Colorado State University, where he received his undergraduate degree, and the University of Colorado where he received his Master of Public Administration.
