Executive Director's Office of Communications
DPA's Communications team is responsible for department and statewide communications, public and media relations and inquiries, and responses to open records requests (see policy attached below). The team provides distinctive public relations programs for DPA. It assists with the establishment and maintenance of lines of communication, understanding, acceptance and cooperation between the Department, the General Assembly, and the public, keeps management informed on and responds to problems or issues related to policy and public opinion, anticipates trends and collaborates with department management on legislation and rulemaking.
The Communications team develops and manages internal and external communications, including media and public relations and promotions, in support of the Department's mission, goals and objectives. The unit plans, organizes and implements the Department's public information activities in order to provide the public and media with timely and accurate information in matters of public interest and to provide a positive organizational image. The Communications Unit also oversees the Department's records requests according to the Colorado Open Records Act and the Department's CORA policy. The Director of Communications is Adrian Schulte.
The Communications team posts statewide closure and delay information in the DPA News section as well as via local television news stations.

Open Records
All Colorado Open Records Act requests to the Department of Personnel & Administration must be submitted through the online CORA Request Form for processing.
